Through her paintings Léa Sarasola seeks to create tension through physically powerful  bodies. Muscular women, enraged bitches, these figures take up space in the frame and  impose themselves on the viewer. Physical tension, female gaze, reappropriation of the  body and animality are at the heart of her concerns.
